Motel History:

Barry and Patricia of the the Whale Watch Motel, entered the hospitality business in 2000, when they bought a run-down motel in Clearwater Beach, FL. They spent several years remodeling the property and welcoming guests, until the area became a bit too crowded and crazy for them.

They sold the motel and bought an apartment complex. They found that although they did not miss the constant frenzy  of  spring  break  style  party atmosphere, they did miss interacting with their guests. When an opportunity to sell the apartments presented itself, they  took  it and  began looking  for a new hospitality property in a place that offered  a quieter,  more  laid-back lifestyle.

They found the motel almost by accident. After spending the night at the  Whale Watch Motel,  Barry  and Patricia fell in love with both Flagler Beach and the motel.  It really is their dream come true.

Why we Love Flagler Beach

This is one of the last  "unspoiled" beach towns  in the country with an atmosphere of "Mayberry by the Sea". . . . . . and parking is still  free,

"We feel Flagler Beach is a great place to live, and  our guests  have become family,  returning  year after year."

Ask Barry to see his pictures  of  the unspoiled beaches on our  cherished   and undiscovered island.   At the south side   of   town,  our   beach  is   less crowded  than  a  deserted island!

"After coming from Clearwater Beach,
I am still amazed at the peacefulness of Flagler Beach!  And our parking is still free," says Barry.
