Tamera is the proud new owner of Beauty and the Beach, here in Flagler Beach. She comes from proven entrepreneurial stock, here at the beach, (her parents, Jack and Bobbi Mauk, were also in the service industry, owning and operating two local restaurants, The Oak Tree in Bunnell and The Oak by the Sea in the Palm Coast Hammock),

Having always had an interest in art, Tamera has focused her talents in the beauty industry. Since 2001, she has been cutting, styling and coloring hair at local salons and has won some impressive awards for her imaginative talents, early on in "updo" competition and "fantasy styles" (#3 in all of Florida).

Her initial training was at the International Academy, then at Paul Mitchell in Ohio, Chi in Orlando and Tampa; more recently by Rusk Color. Tamera has also used her bubbly personality as an educator for Paul Mitchell.

Her artistic ability is apparent the moment you pull into the parking lot at the salon and carries you inside to the imaginatively updated interior.

"As a freelance artist, and as a natural outlet for my artistic expression, it is my goal to bring out and show off the natural beauty of Flagler Beach men and women and to make the entire beach easier on the eyes of Flagler Beach residents and visitors as they stroll around town."
